LanzaTech is already converting carbon dioxide into ethanol at commercial scale, and now they’re focused on converting it into acetate. When fed to algae, the acetate will convert the it into lipids and omega-3s.

Our current source of lipids and omega-3s? Palm oil and overfishing.

LanzaTech is still years away from the lipid and omega-3 production, but the prospect is extremely exciting.
