We often think about COVID’s impact on the world as having changed it.

I believe COVID has revealed it more than changed it.

The pandemic has revealed the impact of leadership at a core level - specifically, the weakness of strongman leaders at the expense of their citizens.

Cuba is the latest example of the weakness of totalitarian leadership. And while Cuba is in the worst economic situation since the fall of the Soviet Union, there are glimmers of hope for a new future.
