On the nanny novel, what we know about treating COVID, and Ziwe Fumudoh
Editorial: Not under siege, but a city in need (The Oregonian)
What’s actually happening in Portland and what the media and pundits are reporting on Portland are pretty far apart.
And this is why local journalism is SO important. It allows the truth - or the closest thing to it - to be reported. And in the case of Portland, the city has certainly had its uprisings and challenges, but the same as any major city in the United States.
It’s also important to hold local law enforcement to account as well.
“But while state and local officials are right to demand that federal officers stand down, they also must take responsibility for allowing turmoil in downtown Portland’s conflict zone to persist as long as it has.”
