Here’s what stands between us and achieving immunity through a COVID vaccine:

• a vaccine candidate passing a Phase III study (one that’s rushed and without a well-defined safety profile, and some slated to be the first of their kind and with little safety data compared to other vaccines)

• ramping up production for an approved vaccine - both the inactivated viral components and the components (vials, stoppers) for the doses

• enough Americans getting the vaccine in the first place

• those who are vaccinated being willing to have multiple doses, if necessary

This is an incredibly sobering, but really important article to read.
