Today’s guest curator is a #5SmartReads regular contributor, Marisa Hamm-Malanowski!

Follow her on IG to see what life is like in Kansas City, and see the question below to learn more about Marisa’s name.

Q: Name pronunciation + any back story?

A: I have no idea why my parents chose my first name, but my middle name, Isabeau, is from Michelle Pfeiffer's character in the 1985 movie "Ladyhawke." This is particularly funny because I have three sisters and all three have old-fashioned, Biblical names - I'm the only one whose name was randomly plucked from a film!
