Many of you will hate this article.
It will reek of compromise and minimal change and a return to how things have been done and not addressing the urgency of the precarious state of the nation.
And while I don’t disagree, I also ask you to read this with an open mind.
We will not be able to advance ANYTHING without some Republican votes. And what both parties can agree on - COVID recovery, infrastructure (please somebody upgrade our grid), reducing healthcare costs - can smooth the way for cabinet confirmations and filling what few judicial appointments will come down the pike.
I get that this election has been disappointing for so many. BUT we have bigger fish to fry - a massive economic recovery and a global pandemic, bringing women back into the workforce, expanding healthcare access and reducing costs at one of the most precarious moments in our history.
But we have to start SOMEWHERE. So may this article help manage your expectations…
