Policy and platitudes are two very different things. And the case of student loan debt is a really important one.
I had no clue that the student loan forgiveness programs are positioned to increase the wealth gap between White and Black Americans more substantially, nor did I understand the details of current loan forgiveness programs or income-driven repayment.
This is an excellent piece, and a timeless reminder to dig into the policy before buying into a slogan.
