Here I am again, railing about the American electrical grid and the need to upgrade it AND maintain it better than we have.
Our grid is approximately 70 years old, and needed to be upgraded when I was still in high school. And while the entire bipartisan infrastructure bill will deliver about $1T to all infrastructure projects, we need about $7T to modernize and climate change-proof our existing grid.
There’s a lot we can do through public-private partnerships on the grid. But it’s going to take someone - anyone - to get things kicked off.
