I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we’re likely less than halfway through being on the other side of COVID.
Cases spiked this summer when they should have been at an all-time lull. They’re on the rise again, and will continue through the fall and winter. And we still have no robust testing or contact tracing strategy, nor an effective mask mandate to safely reopen schools and businesses.
Calling our national response reckless, irresponsible, and a failure isn’t hyperbole - it’s fact. And because of it, we’ll be dealing with the fallout for decades to come.
