On white paint, work in pandemic times, and the difference between myths and epics
The pandemic made our workweeks longer (Axios)
No 💩, Sherlock.
How we’ve been working, in recent history and especially during the pandemic, isn’t really working. And while some companies have used this time to retool their workdays or shift into more asynchronous work and fewer meetings, they are the exception, not the rule.
If you can, try to bring some balance into your day with “commute rituals” - preparing a cup of tea and focusing on all the senses while doing it (and with NO phone) in the morning to ease into the day, a bath to break up work and family responsibilities at the end of the day (something I learned from my friend Amanda).
On a micro level, these rituals help bring some balance to your day. But we need some macro solutions if we’re going to make it out of this.
