Rather than fighting the chaos of March and setting unattainable fitness goals, I’m focusing on consistency and doing less.
Much less, when you compare it to previous months.
March is not for hitting specific numbers, but to find calm in being consistent with my habits (and resetting those habits to an attainable level right now).
The Bare Minimum Routine
Hit 7,500 steps a day (starting with a 1 mile walk in the morning with wrist weights and doing these exercises)
Lights out by 10:30 pm.
If I can manage it, I’d love to get in a couple of strength workouts a week.
Meals
I’m away more than I’m home this month. Part of me wants to abandon any nutrition goals I have, but the more rational part of my brain insists something is better than nothing.
So here are some things I’m doing to stay nourished and somewhat balanced:
Drink a protein & AG1 shake first thing in the morning, 30 minutes after taking my thyroid meds and before coffee (I love this shaker bottle, and use it as my main water bottle when I’m traveling).
Stock my hotel room with some Chobani less sugar yogurts, string cheese, raspberries, hummus snack cups, and Olipop. These edamame snack packs are my favorite to travel with.
Have a side salad with lunch or dinner.
I want to enjoy my margaritas in Texas and an evening glass of wine with my dad. For the rest of the time, I’m sticking with my trusty club soda with lime & bitters or an Aplós non-alc negroni (they’re delicious).
