But by convincing us abortion is a surgical procedure, anti-abortion politicians were able to pass TRAP (targeted regulation of abortion providers) laws requiring abortion clinics and health centers to meet the requirements of surgical centers. More and more I’m seeing abortion advocates describe abortion in clinics as procedural abortion to distinguish from medication abortion.
