The morning rush article hit really close to the heart as my to-do list for today includes sitting down with my 18 year old and finalizing her list of supplies for her dorm. It’s been a very different summer this year with the 18 yr old mobile with her own car and friends to meet and places to be. I was able to keep the illusion of dependency(!?) the last couple of CoVid summers, but not this year! Maybe that why it’s hitting harder, who knows. But it certainly is a complex mix of exhilarating ‘oh my god, she finally gets to be her own person’ feelings and just ‘oh my god’ feelings!!
