I identify as Latina, because my primary identify is as a woman. However, I find it more inclusive to use and see Latinx or Latine when referring to the majority community. But, also would love to normalize asking groups or people what identity they align with most. I think everyone has the right to use and see whatever feels safest.
Loved the read about Wade Bryant helping Lizzo with her flexibility! I'm trying to move away from weight centric health goals, which is why I'm redefining my success metrics to feeling flexible and strong by doing certain moves (push ups, handstand). Since Jan seems to be month of challenges I just signed up for this 28 day core challenge to help with this https://practice.karindimitrovova.com/p/the-core-play
The Axios article about "Latinx" was really surprising. I was under the impression "Latinx" was more widely used within the community than the research shows.
I spend a lot of time thinking about the insurrection. Truly a pivotal event for our nation but so buried by collective compounded trauma its weight is like a toe stub instead of an amputation.
Compounded with pandemic life, rampant misinformation and everyone claiming their truth is the actual truth, and so many lives lost and places changing...you nailed it.
Reporting in to share your sentiments that I haven’t moved on. The cracks in Democracy have widened further than I believed possible. Thanks for always keeping us informed.
Hitha, I have not moved on. Today feels so heavy. My nerves are on high alert. This piece from The Daily Beast was gut wrenching. Thank you, as always. Now let me go do some stretching in order to perfect my splits! 😉

Thank you for this perspective, Lissette!

I was too!

Still feel shaken by the insurrection. I feel like I (and maybe a lot of us collectively?) lost an innocence that day that can't be regained.
I feel this to my core. It showed just how fragile our democracy is, and I fear the next wannabe autocrat will be more competent - and could succeed.

Thank you for being brave and sharing how you're feeling. You're not alone.

It wasn't an easy read, but it was the most important one I shared today.
I agree!
