My name is Hitha, and I’ve been managing depression since I was 13 years old. I have a number of mitigation measures that have helped me manage it for the past 25 years - therapy, being extremely strict about certain lifestyle choices, and medication when needed. While these have helped me keep my depressive episodes to a minimum, they do still surface from time to time. And last week, one crashed over me like an aggressive tidal wave.
Thanks for sharing. I'm currently in a depressive state (and have been for a few weeks), and it can be so hard to remember that everything is going to be ok. Hope you're feeling a little less alone by sharing this (I know I felt it when reading it!)
Thank you Hitha. I can be the worst on myself with thinking I can “gratitude” my way through this, as opposed to honoring what I’m actually going through.
Thank you for writing about this. It happens to me a few times a year and the older I get the more I realize I am not alone with this even when it feels like it. I hope you are feeling better every day. ❤️
Thank you for your bravery in sharing. Depression is not something we can control like a light switch or our oven. My heart goes out to you dear Hitha.

Thanks for sharing and normalizing this important issue for all of us
