The plans I had for October 2021 were the exact opposite of my reality. We’re Speaking was about to be released, with a major tour planned. We had finished negotiations of our licensing deal. I thought I was going to be able to transition into a more advisory role on the latter to focus on the book launch, and that things would settle down generally.
I had the surgery a few years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. In my case it was partial, Dr decided to leave ovaries since they were ok. Mine was due to constant pain, horrible bleeding clots, permanent uti infections etc. laparoscopic was a breeze and then just relax at home. Disconnect to connect. Search that video on YouTube e it is actually a commercial. Take the time to snuggle with your kids. Let your body recover at your own pace. Read those books you have been saving. Do your knitting projects. I love to knit and do cross stitch rugs. Create a relaxing calming space
At home with comfy place to rest , sit or lie. In my case I used a big bolster type cusion whenI was in bed to prevent back pain. And favorite throw. Use aromatherapy. Oils. Music if whatever you like to relax. Catch up on your binging shows and movies. You deserve the time for you to rest and heal. And disconnect from work to connect with yourself and your loved ones.
South African reader here. A wonderful woman, Melanie Verwoerd, a powerhouse in the political realm, but generally a wise, brave and erudite woman, has recently posted a series of pods on her experience of having a radical hysterectomy. I hope it may illuminate the journey. And wishing you everything of the best.

This is the best advice - and very much my plans! Thank you!
Read 'Wintering' by Katherine May, she also just had a great conversation with Jen Hatmaker.

One day at a time, and accept the help that is offered, you would do the same for those around you.
I have this audiobook but never got around to listening to it! Will start as soon as I finish the podcast episode.
Thank you for these wise words!
